Heart of the Matter (Суть Дела). Ранговая миссия-диалог впервые с Vaelyn, стремящейся усовершенствовать поиски Alpha Squad сразу, как только появится возможность обосноваться у Core. Теперь на плечи Spiralka-chan легла ещё большая ответственность.
Лейтенант Vaelyn возглавляла первый отряд, неудачно попытавшийся найти Alpha Squad в Clockworks. Она талантливый командир отряда, не уступающий в этом деле самому Euclid. Vaelyn никогда не бросала поиски и сейчас пытается собрать исследовательскую команду, которая разместится в районе Core, чтобы точнее установить, где, предположительно, мог остановиться Alpha Squad.
Lieutenant Vaelyn led the first squad into the Clockworks that attempted to located the Alpha Squad. She is a talented squad leader thought to be on par with Euclid himself. Vaelyn has never given up her search and is now attempting to put together an on-site Core research team in order to better understand the very place where the Alpha Squad’s trail is thought to end.

- Hello, Lieutenant. How can I help you?
- Vaelyn:
- As you know I am attempting to assemble a research team to work on-site in the Core terminal. In order to successfully utilize it to restore the Skylark, it is imperative that we reach it and set up this research station.
- All evidence seems to point towards you having the potential to finally reach the Core. By breaking through the Firestorm Citadel and establishing a link to the Core, my team could set up the necessary supply lines and get to work immediately. But we can’t do that while that infernal citadel and its horrible ruler stand in our way.
- Spiralka-chan:
- I’ve prepared for facing the Firestorm Citadel, you can count on me.
- Vaelyn:
- Thank you, Spiralka-chan. I hope you succeed. As you know, we believe the Alpha Squad made it this far, but it is unclear what became of them… Euclid, Parma, Grantz… Rulen.
- (Lieutenant Vaelyn seems to almost drift off.)

- Lieutenant?
- Vaelyn:
- Sorry, yes of course. Good luck to you, Spiralka-chan. Assemble the best squad you can and lead them well. We’re all counting on you.
